Converts MemberPress transactions to PMPro orders and assigns memberships to users. Optionally migrates Stripe subscriptions so active billing continues uninterrupted.

What Migrates Automatically

  • MemberPress transactions are equivalent to PMPro orders (status, total, subtotal, tax, gateway reference, timestamps)
  • User membership assignments based on your level map from Step 2
  • Membership start and end dates
  • Stripe subscription IDs (optional)

What Does NOT Migrate

  • Non-Stripe gateway subscriptions (PayPal, Authorize.net, etc.): These subscriptions cannot be transferred automatically. Affected members will be assigned a membership expiration date and will need to check out again to renew. Cancel these subscriptions in your payment gateway directly.
  • Member notes and communication history: Export from MemberPress separately if needed.

Stripe Subscription Migration

If your MemberPress site uses Stripe, you can preserve active subscriptions during the migration so members keep billing through PMPro without checking out again.

To enable this:

  1. Check Migrate Stripe subscriptions to PMPro (or select your Stripe gateway from the dropdown if you have multiple).
  2. Connect with Stripe Connect.
  3. Select your gateway environment (Live or Sandbox).
  4. Click Queue User Migrations.

When Stripe migration is enabled, the toolkit will:

  1. Set PMPro’s active gateway to Stripe and store your keys
  2. Link each active Stripe subscription ID directly to the migrated PMPro order
  3. Remove the membership expiration date for those members so PMPro does not auto-expire their access

Members whose subscriptions are linked this way will continue to bill on their existing Stripe schedule. No changes are made in Stripe. The same subscription IDs are simply recognized by PMPro going forward.

How the Migration Runs

The migration uses Action Scheduler to process users in the background. On sites with more than 250 users, Action Scheduler is temporarily paused while all tasks are queued, then resumed. This prevents timeouts on large sites. You can monitor progress at Tools > Scheduled Actions or by refreshing the wizard page and checking the step status.
