What Migrates

What Does NOT Migrate

  • Custom post type restrictions: Use the Custom Post Type Membership Access Add On
  • Drip/time-based content: Use the Series: Drip-Feed Content Add On
  • Partial content restrictions within a post: PMPro restricts entire posts by default. Use the shortcode or the Content Visibility block to protect sections within a post.
  • Content expiration rules (time-limited access based on membership start date): Configure via custom code
  • Role/capability-based restrictions: Configure via custom code
  • User-specific restrictions: Set up manually or via custom code
  • MemberPress product category restrictions: Set up category restrictions in PMPro under Memberships > Settings > Advanced
  • Level group-based restrictions: Recreate using PMPro level assignments
  • Paywall / metered content: Use the Limit Post Views Add On

Note: The toolkit only migrates rules where the access condition is membership-type. Rules tied to roles, capabilities, or other non-membership conditions are skipped.

Click Queue Content Restriction Migrations to begin. Like user migration, this runs in the background via Action Scheduler.

After migration, test protected pages by visiting them while logged out or as a non-member to verify access is restricted correctly.
